It's 70 Soles for matrimonial now with free motorbike parking. Nice people, they stored a backpack for 4 month for us completely for free.

Paid 95 Soles for one month of motorbike SOAT and also got a Sim. Nice lady. Should be open Monday to Saturday without lunch break.

Everybody assured us, that this route is safe now. There was rain earlier this year, and everything is green. There might also some improvement have been done to the road. There is a section which is rough, but in total it is OK. We are a big camper (5.5t, 3.6m high) and had an average speed of about 23kmh.

Campground with free showers. You need a Discovery pass to visit but its pretty nice

BLM camping. Beautiful spot with a fire pit by Independence creek. Three tall pine trees near the site. Road is challenging, narrow and requires a 4WD vehicle. Amazing 360 views. 3 bars of LTE Verizon. Please, help keep this gem clean.

super nice leveled parking bay next to the Plaza of Prusia. most beautiful town around the area. free, safe, quiet and perfect. Helga the girl from the shop in the middle of the plaza is the most welcoming person we met in peru! she will show you the map and give good advice on what to visit. free toilets during daytime, nearby a super nice restaurant called Tipicos Prusia. this is maybe the most beautiful plaza I've seen in Perú. we visited the other overlanders spots but this is the best by far. 5 minutes away from pozuzo. highly recommended. PS. Helga offered internet but we didn't need it. there is electricity in the restrooms

Registration is closed by 6pm. Self check in is possible but is confusing. Sites and prices not very clearly listed. There is “off duty” rangers present on site but they did not seem to be very knowledgeable of site rules. I attempted to ask one for help and she was kind but did not much clarity. Tent sites and group camping where blocked with a barricade so you could not drive a vehicle in. Unsure why. Full hook ups sites where plentiful but expensive. 35$ for Oregon resident, 44$ for non resident. Bathrooms not locked with a code so this is a place you could stop for a quick discreet shower. Would probably be a nice spot but was confusing and not worth the price for us.

Stop here to check on shower prices. $7. Decided to go to aquatic center which was much nicer. $5.75 Plus you get access to the hot tub.

Small shop in a residential building. We paid 17.000 tenge for 1 month (1999 Toyota Land Cruiser 100). Seems cheaper than most that is mentioned online. Very very kind people. One of the employees even went to a bakery to buy us some cake ❤️

Indeed a great place to visit. It didn't rain a lot, so still very doable although rough with a high clearance 4x4.

The lakes are absolutely amazing! You can do a hike and sleep there as well if you skip going past the police ;).

The fees are 2,500 per person and 2,000 once for camera fees. You can fly your drone, we asked permission, no problem. If you want to sleep they ask 1,000 p.p additionally. They have a caretaker now Mr. Saleh that registers you in the book. You pay your fees with him or in the village.

We registered with the police, they did appreciate. I wouldn't have done so in hindsight as they didn't give us permisson to camp up the lake. If you want to come here and sleep contact Mr. Sone the tourism guide in the area working for the community: 675096845

The people in the area are really friendly and most speak good English.

Update. When we got back to the police they said they really cannot guarantee our safety up at the lakes. He mentioned a security incident 'in the next' village. But the village he mentioned is really quite far away. I still believe the community up at the mountain will make sure you are protected. I would have loved to camp there.

Insurance near the border on the Montenegro side. Up the stairs on the left side of the building, on the second floor. They sell for motorcycles, not sure about cars.

€10 for two weeks on motorcycle. Nice guys, just beyond the border.

Solid area. Very quiet and peaceful. Fire rings and plentiful deadwood for firewood.

In a forest so no sweeping views or anything. Lots of trees so solar may be an issue. Also, kinda hard to find level (blocks def useful) and snow on road may cause issues depending on time of year (in mid may there were still some big patches that I’d only attempt w high clearance and off road tires).

Still, recommend this area. Also recommend nearby duck lake and creek for wildlife viewing (ducks obv, also fish hawks and stocked trout), water play, hiking etc.

The place was open and nobody to ask or pay anything. Its Big. Low season

We have arrived around 9pm so it was dark. There is two lots, upper one has posted sign "no camping or occupation" lower one seemed ok, so we decided to try it out for the night. This morning I have noticed that there is a sign on this lot too but someone has removed most of it so I suppose we were lucky to not get visited by PD.

Very steep drive in from bottom end but we did it in a 23' RV so no problem. The road down to the falls is posted as Not Maintained in winter there were three pull offs available. we chose the second one with a fire pit. Perfect stop. Only ones there and no cars all night. In heavy rain I wouldn't do it in an RV but otherwise it is lovely.

Park with all kind of vehicles you need in mining. If you are in this village with your kids it is worse a stop. Our daughter enjoyed it.

Beautiful place next to the river. Very peaceful and quiet. You can't hear the noise from the road, just the river next to you. And you can't be seen from the road either. Perfect for one night. No cell phone signal.

Fantastic spot? Really? All the options that are okay to level are quite close to the road, you can be seen and you hear the noise. The upper section in the bushes is hard to access and impossible to level. We left!

Border crossing Chile - Argentina: easy and fast, just one stop for everything. It's not a real drive through. You exit and visit the counters one by one. Can be a mess, when people just park in the drive through lines. But all in all quite efficient (30 minutes), friendly officers and no-one investigated the car.

Well, they have petrol, that's true. But not even toilets. So not a Copec as you might know from Chile 😉

Hot showers for 800 pesos pp. Unlimited and clean. A good option if you spend some days at the beaches of Maitencillo.
