instagram.com/rebecca.gypsysol/ | Gravel lot in front of the (closed down) Brumley Swinging Bridge. The road down is gravel and pretty rutted up, but if you're not in a hurry, it's passable. There us private property on one side of the lot, so I parked on the far side, a little in front of a rutted road leading down to the water. Stayed one night. No one bothered me. No cell reception, so plan accordingly. |

nomadxplorers | Very nice waterfalls. The road to get there is rough, local comes with little chevy but high clearance recommended. Not for big rv at all. Slippery rocks and river crossing. The entrance to the falls is 10000 per person and we paid 8000 for parking. You can easily spend half day to a day here. |

louis.ligaulthurel | Awesome place. around 15 USD/night (300 pesos in 2023) for private room with fireplace. Beautiful garden with basic kitchen and very friendly owners.
possible to share a 3 bed room that costs around 23 USD (500 pesos in 2023) san mateo overall is by the way a much nicer town than San Jose because of the weather which tends to be much better here because lower elevation, awesome sunsets. |

glaw_ | We were asked to pull over for a police checkpoint. They asked for our license and title for our car. They claimed that our lights were illegal (we have a few extra lights mounted on our truck). They said we were going to have to pay a fine and they threatened to keep my drivers license. We knew they were trying to get us to pay a bribe so we just said, “That’s fine. Take the license and give us the ticket”. They kept repeating their threat to keep the license. They even said “Aren’t you too busy to deal with this? When do you leave Nicaragua?” but we just kept saying “That’s fine. We have many weeks in the country. You can give us a ticket”. Eventually, after about 5 minutes of this back and forth, they gave us back the license and let us leave. Do not pay any bribes to these crooked cops!! They are bluffing! |

Kathleen | I enjoyed exploring the historically accurate fort, barn, living areas, and lifestyle of this fort, which was founded in 1867. Enjoyable for adults and the school children I saw visiting.

the.redexplorer | Super place. Great ambience and an excellent wine selection. Noelia gives very good advice and makes suitable recommendations. You can either buy a whole bottle or order by the glass, each costing 1000 ARS. Open Monday to Saturday 2pm - 10pm. We love this bar. |

vivienogden | I think the comment on 15/04/23 has got mixed up with somewhere else. This is a level hard surface carpark, opposite Walmart that is now permanently closed since March 2023, there is 24 hour security on site. The performing Arts centre is temporarily closed. The carpark also borders the Highland Community Swimming pool, 3$ for an adult swim (check hours) toilets and hot showers. We stayed 3 nights with no problem. There is a big homeless population in Albuquerque, however we only saw 3 people during the night who walked through without disturbing us. |

mrtgotoo | Nice hotel. 70,000 for two people with private bath. Hot water. Bicycles stayed downstairs in back room while we got a room on the 2nd floor. WIFI ok. The Hotel Royal Class is next door. I checked them out and the man was extremely rude. It was cheaper but I would never stay in a place run by a rude guy. I’ve been in Colombia almost 3 months and he was by far the rudest person I came across in 3 months of cycle travel. |
