Parked in the second parking lot. Cars coming and going during the day time for hiking but at night it was somewhat quiet. Close to the road and you could hear the traffic but overall not bad for the night

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and found the area only about 1/3 full. Several sites with established flat pads for RV/trailer and some sites had tent pads too. Other sites are more primitive with short uneven access/parking and rocky ground.
There is also a singe group camp site with a large open lot.

If the campground is full there are a few primitive camp sites farther down the road. The road ends 2 miles past the campground. At the end of the road is a tight turnaround loop that'll be no problem for for vans and trucks but may be difficult for trailers. Consider dropping the trailer the picnic area (near the campground) and scouting the road and turnaround points.

AT&T cell signal using an iPhone 14. Bounced between LTE and 5G. Calls and texting were no problem, Data speeds slow but enough for email and light internet browsing. With a better antenna or booster could probably have steady 5G.

Peruvian and Ecuadorian migrations are in the same building. Ecuadorian aduana is right next to them.
Peruvian aduana is 50m away, somewhat hidden on the back of the building with the canals for inspection of the underside of vehicles. It is the first building you drive around when coming from the Peruvian side.
Ecuadorian aduana system was not working when we arrived, happens from time to time. We waited for 2 hours. The aduana guy told us it can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours to 2 days 🤷‍♂️

Nobody said a word for yellow fever, but it is always a good idea to have that vaccine, the fever is pretty bad 🫠

Small private campground with 34 sites, no sewer hookups. Most spots filled by long term residents, however several nightly and monthly sites were available.

Very nice. Spots with picnic table and fire rings. Clean toilet. In two spots our Starlink worked well. USD17. There is another camping right in front and some others if you keep going in the highway.

Ficamos duas noites. Recomendo o lugar.

all roads are blocked but there's still space by the cell tower and 1 or 2 flat spaces in front of road blocks .. I think I'm going to continue but glad I know this is here in a pinch . I don't feel comfortable parking next to the cell tower 😕

We tried to get here too, but yeah the fence is in the way. A gate was opened and we could have driven here, but I feel uncomfortable driving to possible private property. We instead slept by the gate on the road. Very quiet, I think this particular road only services two houses.

Was all set waiting in the park to set up for the night. Was about 7;30 pm. When I noticed a guy by my truck. Then another guy came. He went to the bushes then to his car and parked along side mine. So I got up and as I approached one guy on the street said something to the guy in the car and he took off. I checked my truck seems like I was there in time. Some people walked by and the guy was talking to them so I asked if they knew him in case I misunderstood the situation. Then the guy got mad and went to his trunk to get a beat stick. A jogger passing walked with me pass him to my truck and I left. Looks like I need a plan b for the night.

He said he was from the area so anyways probably just bad luck.

The first spot after turning from 385 was blocked with a pile of dry branches. The second one was sloped. This third one was huge and we found a relatively flat area. It’s farther away from 385 and we could not hear traffic noise. We did not see any other campers around when we pulled in, there was one car camper joined us in this site later in the evening. It’s only a couple of miles from the entrance to Wind Cave National Park.

Saw a highway sign that my planned Bozeman Rest Area was closed so went to the earlier Livingston areas people posted.

This one seemed kinda iffy. I was the only non big rig there. And even so there were only 3 of those. Wasn’t well lit. Seemed a bit run down and not very comfortably safe so I left

I had only selected it because the person posting said wifi. Which there is but it’s private secure
