On the east side of Hungry Horse reservoir. Nice place. 26 sites water and pit toilets. $9.00 for us as we have the America The Beautiful pass. Tall pines and nice gravel parking that is often somewhat unlevel. We found a flat spot above the lake. Mosquitos are bad close to the lake. Fewer up here. There are reputedly bears in the area so bear proof food storage boxes are in between sites. They recommend having bear spray or a firearm. The camp host, however said they hadn’t seen any.

Nice quiet spot with a huge fire pit, and 2 spacious spots for rigs. We were alone out here in a small truck camper. Plenty of level spots.

Really a good and safe place. The place closes at 7pm. We were there several nights and got a key from Domingo so we could come and go as we liked. During the day the car park is quite full, in the evening it is almost empty. So depending on when you want to come, it might be better to tell him in advance. We will come again. We paid 2.000 ARS for 24h.

Up a short, steep section thru a human bathroom area and then took a path to a non grassy, flat area to pitch our tent. Beware that the short, steep section is tough if you are on a bicycle. The trail is on the left as you head south to Ipiales and just before the toll booth. The road noise wasn’t too bad…occasional truck and moto noise.

Labeled clearly “Potable Water” with a large sign on side of building. The building looks more like a house, painted white with green trim. Park on the gravel to avoid blocking the fire station’s access to the road. Yes, there is a sign at the entrance that says “No Public Access” but I think that’s because this entrance used to lead to the skate park and library parking lot, and is now blocked by a barricade . Access to the water is well before the barricade.

Street parking next to Montgomery Park. Porta potties and dog park are here. Good for a night or two. Parking tends to fill up during the day.

Stayed here one night. Decent, not great. tons of big rigs, running engines all night. Very close to the highway - other rest stops I passed going east looked way nicer and farther away. Very weak water fountains/not great for filling bottles.

Quiet street parking between two apartment buildings as described. Parked overnight last night with zero problems. There were 2 (well enough maintained) RVs parked when I arrived around 10 pm and I was a little worried about adding my conversion van to the mix and looking like a homeless encampment. But I left at 6:00 am to remain as discreet as possible. No one bothered me and I didn't feel the need to"hide" like I do in more residential neighborhoods, since the street doesn't butt up against single family homes. Do note, this street touches a school district, for what that's worth (signs on the street). I would stay here again but rotate it out to avoid the "encampment" concern for future travelers. Cheers!

Hands down the best mechanic we met in Africa, and we’ve been to maybe 20 garages with our prado.
Alexander’s level of precision is top notch, he’s very meticulous and makes most of the work himself to ensure the quality of the repairs. He even had reenforced bushing for our shock absorber in stock, the kind of things we’ve be looking for everywhere since Togo.
He’s a very kind person, really willing to help.
Highly recommended!
He also works on other brands than Land Rover!

$30 per night, not very good for the price, but hotels aren’t cheap in Afghanistan. Includes breakfasts, kind of secure parking for bike. Squat toilet.

We found this place on our way to Cahuita National Park. Extremely clean place and in the middle of the forest. We were very well received. We slept in the Campervan, on a super quiet and silent night. The site has a swimming pool that can be used, regardless of whether you stay in the Campervan or in the rooms. We paid 20k colones for two people.

Great little free USFS campground. Clean vault toilet, but no TP. Train does come by, but not an issue. No one else here. Trails to explore! No Verizon service. We were fine in our transit van on the road in.

Great base camp for exploring Alexandra Falls and Louise Falls. We spent 2 nights here in our 20ft travel trailer :) You can swim in this lake! We saw some locals drive to the other side of the lake where it looks like they have set up a diving board and jump into the waters. Bugs were too bad while we were there.

Not a restaurant anymore, but a really neat place to stay overnight. There are different rooms in a greener than green garden, on walking distance of the center of Coroico. Great, fresh, homemade breakfast. The host is super friendly, warm and helpful. Room is kind of basic, but comes with a warm shower. There is a parking space, for one big car, not suitable for big rigs (but you can park on the side of the road). 35 US dollars per night/2 persons via Airbnb. Be prepared for many mosquitos and big spiders. Mosquito net available.

24' RV no problem down or back up. Absolutely stunning place and watching the tidal range is amazing. However and it's a big however...we had visitors come and put the frighteners on. Came down and parked right beside us (no need it's a big enough area) rooted their horn repeatedly. turned their truck around to shine the lights on our windows. Yelling they were going to rob us. We stayed quiet and inside and didnt respond at all and after about an hour they drove to the top of the track and blocked us in for ages. They finally got bored and left and we stuck it out. Really stressful and frightening and such a shame because this truly is a magical spot.

The campsite is visible from the road. We saw 2 cars in the 12h we stayed there so it‘s not a lot going on here. There are some very flat spots to set up camp. Some wind may be common as its at the exit of the valley. Nearby is a river to take water and shower.
