There is no visitor center or amenities here….just a dirt road and farm field.

This campground has electric sites for RV or tent. It is a dark sky park for night sky viewing of stars. There are pit toilets throughout the park and a large building by the pond which has flush toilets and showers. There are several trails and river access for kayaking.

No water

50 bob for one person and his bicycle in a room for two. nice town and relaxing place to spend the night at. toilet smelled a bit iffy but theres toilet paper there balancing it up.

The entrance is near Hwy 98 on the Hwy 89, underneath the hydro lines. We went down to the 2nd spot, very slowly (2wd sprinter), the first spot was taken already . Was able to find a pretty leveled spot. Super quiet even though 2 vehicles when towards the Canyon and back before sunset.

As of May 2023 This is now a one stop border, everything done on the Tanzanian side in one building. Best border crossing I’ve had. Very quick and efficient, bank inside building. All done in 40 minutes with carnet. A few touts/fixers around but you absolutely don’t need them

Magnificent place, our favorite spot in Uzbekistan so far. Cooler temperatures, plenty of space, some trees that provide shade and a big lake to swim. The view over the white peaks is also very nice. During the day shepherds will come by to let the sheep drink, they are all super friendly. Oh and fast internet as well.

While a truck driver helped us with his card, english speaking staff showed up and asked for 80.000 rial per liter. It ended up with a fight between the truck driver and the gas station staff. I recommend either be very discrete here or be willing to pay more than the local truck drivers.

We found this nice place. At first the people are friendly but in the night we get a visit from the police. They check who we are, but then they gave us the number and wish us a nice stay. At 3 a clock in the night there came a very drunken man and we didn’t get rid of him. I don’t know if this was a normal stay at this place …

Visited very late at night. some construction still on-going but was able to drive past the road under train brige and park with an SUV. possibly newly constructed wooden plank road over a bridge exists but did not attempt to cross with car as the other side was blocked by construction machines.

I suspect the bridge would be safe to cross my foot.

there are many campsites along this road some of which aren't on ioverlander so could be worth checking them out, but Symphonia is really lovely!! Beautiful spacious flat grassy campsites and everything is new, working and clean. Each site has a tap with borehole water and a hose, power, awesome braai spot, bin and light. Ablutions are spotless and huge. Big sinks with hot water for dishes. The main area has a pool (cold!!) and bar area. Dinner is 160pula for the main course which was huge and delicious. decent wifi at the bar area, but not really anywhere to 'chill' kinda thing. very friendly staff and owners. Can do laundry for 48pula per kg. Nice place would recommend. 160pppn.

Great viewing Plattform, nice View over teh water. We saw quite a few Hippos and Impalas.

To add to the comment below, we spoke to a number of locals about this path and they all reiterated that the section close to Cape Town is not safe or advisable to cycle on. Instead if you are leaving Cape Town heading North you can cycle on Highway 1 for like 1km and then join the R27.

Don’t be daunted by the fact it’s a highway, there’s a really wide shoulder the entire way after the first few hundred metres and it is completely safe. Eventually once you’ve left the city the R27 has a fantastic bike path alongside it (you can’t miss it) that you can rejoin. We felt safe the entire way using this route - one that was recommended to us by two different local bike shops.

it is also easy to change your FC to KZ here.
then the road to Mbanza Congo is almost done: the first 50km are flat laterite 2WD and big rig friendly, and almost the entire following 100km are brand new tarmac. people told us that the short cut to Tombocto is not passable, so we didn't try it.

this place is open but the name changed. don't expect too much, it is a sad and hungry "supermarket"...

There are toilets available 24/7, there is even a little room with a counter and a sink (to maybe wash some dishes). There is a water fountain on the side of the building and you can fill your water bottle there. I don’t know if you can spend the night there, but I saw two vans parked overnight!

Nice hotel, clean rooms, with fan and shower. Very kind owner, 120 ghc for a double room, but we negotiated and he made us a price. Close to the city center, 15min walk to the castle and the fish market. There is a parking inside, but the door is not tall (photo). It does not fit for big rig, but there is space to park outside.

no need to stop unless you really want to. tar is super all the way! new SGR railway being built alongside the road close to Itigi

This spot blew our minds! No really - strongest winds we have experienced since Patagonia. The entire car and tent were shaking a lot.
It’s not very secluded either - visible from the dirt road and from the truck stop on the main road.
It’s also not level.
But the views are nice.

Really nice view, we've seen pelicans, antilopes saigas, horses, gerbils BUT BUT BUT even if the weather was really nice since many days, we are in Big rigs and we got stucked in the clay during 2 days and it was really hard to get out of here !
So be really careful on the track close to the lake !!!

fit 17 of us last night. no full size rvs. no problem for anyone to pull in or out without needing anyone else to move.

Quiet place on the edge of town. Only toilets available and a 24/7 snack shop.

We wanted to get our dog export paperwork done here in Quillota (see pet icon) and not have to get out of town to find a place for the night.

They asked for $5000 as you can officially only park here for 10 minutes. It's a small Copec, but across the road there's also a Shell.

Pretty nice and quiet meadow. you need enough clearance to get here, but nothing too serious. Lonely and pretty private.

Stayed there for one night in a van , some semi trucks are also overnighting ,you can try to put here bigger rig if you a member of planet fitness and it's 24/7 open
