CJ | I was able to pick a high fence along a street close by to the exact marked spot here. No issues. Was able to check out this cute town in the evening before heading to the National Seashore the following morning. |

marc.saperavi | We paid 260 something in low season. Very rustic place and simple. Reception closes quite early in week end (16h30) so dont arrive too late cause you will need a key to acess the bathrooms. Bathrooms quite run down but fonctionnal, with hot water (you need to wait a few long minutes for the hot water to come). Ok for one night. Nice "most southern pub " 3 minutes away if you get thirsty. |

Seth Wing | Zim to Bots, single US citizen with a rented vehicle. Overall quick and easy, maybe 30 minutes total. Zim side: they checked my passport and visa at immigration. Upon exiting, the gate guard asked for a “gift”. I gave him a few oranges I’ve been using for just this type of thing. He opened the gate right afterwards. I highly recommend bringing a bag of oranges and some coca colas to either Zim or Moz, it’s not the best practice, but it will really help speed things along with corrupt officials. Bots side: clean and efficient, not a whiff of corruption anywhere. You have to sanitize your shoes and tires, then get a health screen (they really don’t do anything here), then onto immigration where they check your passport, then to customs where I had to pay a BWP 280 fee for my vehicle. They didn’t check any other paperwork but did ask for my vehicles registration number and how many days I would be in the country. |

einfachmaloffroad | As previously stated, one of the most remote and "wild-like" campings we encountered. We checked out Homeb camping before. Despite the proximity of Homeb to the big dunes, we liked Mirabib much more. There is no civilization around here and you have wonderful views. If you stay at the last campspot facing South you can spot the dunes far away and there are fire pits under the big rock providing an amazing atmosphere. Got the permit at the wildlife office in Swakopmund (nobody around to check at the campsite). 100 NAD pp for SADC, 150 NAD pp for non-SADC. 80 NAD for the camping (1x fee for whole group). |

ohbe | I drove in, parked on the grass at the far end, then found the camp host. They directed me to the showers and the water. The shower room is private, and the water is as hot as you want it. Then I drove up to the spigot and filled my 50 gallon tank in around 4 minutes with their high pressure spigot. The host couldn’t have been nicer. |

TRAVELcandies-On-Tour | We just searched for a place away from the main roads, which isn't easy in this area. This place is easy to access and ok, so far. Nevertheless a lot people driving along that way as well and might stop, because of curiosity. All of them have been very friendly, but being alone is different.

boryenek | 75 pppn. The cheapest option for camping in Kasane ;-) Local place run by local people. Tabo, the local girl who is working here, is very friendly and welcoming. If it is to stay overnight and go early or all the day, perfect because hot showers thanks a geyser and quiet night (no road nearly). electricity, fridge, kitchen. but no wifi, no pool. so if you want to relax and chill, go to Kwalape (wifi and pool for 110pppn).

MeatAroundTheWorld | Entering Peru- Such a small border, making everyone super friendly and everything easy-peasy. We actually arrived at 11:45 am worried about them being closed for lunch but all members of staff postponed their break until we were done. No copies needed nor health checks (proof of vaccinations etc). 1 hour in total.

ji89ok5 | Don't let the price fool you, these are some good tamales. They have chicken or pork. I recommend the chicken. When I unwrap a tamale from this lovely old couple, I feel all of Mexico slap me in the face, and punch me in the belly. But without the stomach ache. Tell them Robertito sent you. |

hourlesslife.com | Peaceful one-night stay. Lots of camping options, from primitive ($8) to full hookups ($18). Most of the full hookups require online reservations, but it’s easy to hop on the website. Nice playground by full hookup area. It looks like the shower house is closed right now. We used the pit toilets, which were clean. Some swarming bugs at twilight (mosquitoes?), but they didn’t bite us. The shelters at the sites are really well done and help shield from the wind. We would stay again. |

IG:opusonthemove | I was so glad to find this place on iOverlander. We were sick and worn out and looking for a comfy place to stay after crossing the border. We couldn’t have found a better spot. The property is beautiful (nice shared rancho, pool, walking trails, gardens), the rooms are spacious, comfy, modern and very well appointed (induction stove, cookware, fridge, powerful AC, super nice hot shower in chic bathroom), the included breakfast is fantastic and Flory is happy to cook whatever you’re craving. The adjacent porch and hammock is great for morning coffee and afternoon birdwatching. Owner Flory and host Angie were both incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Angie offered to do our laundry on arrival for which we made sure to give her a nice tip. It’s $90 per night for 2 people ($40 more per additional person), $50 for 1, which makes this super affordable for a solo traveler. We also had the option to pay $80 if we didn’t want breakfast but the breakfast was well worth the extra $10 and they let us choose when we wanted it delivered to our room (between 6-9 I believe). The best way to check availability and make a reservation on short notice is to text Melí on WhatsApp 506 8823 4734. Flory mentioned that they’ve had several cyclists (some who camp in the rancho) and overlanders come to the hotel and are planning to build some bathrooms and prepare a portion of the property for camping. Wouldn’t hurt to ask if they’re open for camping. Wonderful spot in a beautiful part of the country! |

iguana.panamericana | Absolutely loved it here! We befriended a winemaker/traveller who knew someone working here and we got a tour and tasting of the factory (I'm not sure if you can do this as an actual tour, didn't ask). Anyway, the little restaurant is great and everyone is soooo friendly. The view is just stunning, especially with sunset and sunrise. So definitely ask if you can spend the night here! |
