We arrived by bicycle (with our police escort as usual) they wanted to charge us 350egp for a double room. We ended up paying 250egp. Room is clean, with fan and a/c, balcony and fridge.
Room on the backside of the building, so nice and quiet.

We enjoyed 3 nights at this amazing, unfenced, campsite. The ablution block is a distance from some of the campsites so it is advisable to be self sufficient at night.
We had Elephant walking through and past our campsite every day.
The camp needs to change to solar for hot water - the donkey exploded while we were there.
We did not pay $50 as we asked for SADC rates.

High atop a bluff up a boulder strewn dirt road. Verizon 13/22 upload/download. Overlooking the valley and Rt 24 below. Turn R off Rt 24 to Sunglow Campground just before Bicknell, then R again onto dirt road. Diesel in Bicknell and groceries ahead in Loa.

I so much wanted to stay here! The “driveway” of the campsite was too gnarly for me. You need a 4-wheel drive. The pic doesn’t do it justice. Plenty of other sites but this is the best.

The proper name of this campground is Palisades CG. It is a US Forest Service site with basic amenities.

Located at Wilson Lake.

Less than 5 mins to Mesa Verde NP entrance. Im in spot #2 and backed up closer to the trees for shade. Spots are very private and quiet. Would be better if people picked up after their dogs

Pretty easy to find, there's a road to get to it. It is on concrete. The WC were closed because of construction.

there are so many sites down this road!! intermittent Verizon coverage with a booster. super awesome view if you get one of the cliff top sites. fire rings all over.

Great place, was sound asleep when three big trucks decided to pull in directly in front of me blaring music with their lights on at 9:30pm. So I left. This is how we get “no overnight parking signs.” maybe don’t decide to draw attention to a lone car camper who is already asleep when there’s a dozen pullouts in the next mile, idk.

Great place to stay for a night or 2. Just the other side of the rest area so you can Walk and use the facilities. Few cars parked right by the river.

Plenty of parking & only free water fountains/water filling access I’ve been able to find in last week or so of being around Salem & Wilsonville rest areas. The north bound side has running fountains, but not southbound side. Also, no running water for fill-ability, except in restrooms, at the French Prairie rest stops at next area north on either side. Their spigots are also turned off. But French Prairie is a gorgeous rest area. Both sides are nearly identical. Both have 3 different large sections to park whatever vehicle you might have. Tons of room for dogs to roam and they can run through the woods a bit more freely without being an issue for other patrons. Have traveled all over the country and French Prairie is by far the largest and most spread out I’ve ever seen. So if you’re able to go there, it’s about a thousand times better than these other small rest stops. This one at Santiam is just not very family/kid friendly in my opinion because the areas next to the bridge are super sketchy. There’s also quite a few impound marked/stranded vehicles all about either side.

This was a long review, but I’ve barely written any on here yet. Seemed necessary. The place just feels off a bit, and definitely not a location I’m guessing most folks would want to land for upwards of their 12 hour limit per 24 hour time frame. French Prairie though...definitely a great place to chill for a bit before heading back on the road.

Walmart parking , very good place very quiet and safe , manager friendly , she said yes for the stay for one night . Wifi works well .

This park is at Wilson Lake, near Russell, Kansas.

This place is truly spectacular. Right where the pin drop is you'll find within a couple hundred yards several two track roads heading off. The one I took is for sure a 4x4 high clearance track but the site at the end was fantastic. There are several tracks and most look doable in 2x van or truck/RV. I have 5 bars Verizon LTE. Zero on Visible

this is a nice place, but unfortunately ... marked with traffic signs. No traffic, no dike traffic and very important ... the nature protection sign is also attached there. This can cost up to 2000 € in fine. Police are present.

das ist zwar ein schöner Platz, nur leider... mit Verkehrsschilder ausgewiesen. befahren verboten, Deich befahren verboten und ganz wichtig... da ist auch das Naturschutzschild angebracht. bis zu 2000€ kann das an Strafe kosten. Polizei ist präsent.

beautiful spot. not much flat space but okay for one jeep or one van. a lot of fish, nice to snorkel. some locals went spearfishing. mobile connection is bad, okay for whatsapp but not enough for work. no direct access to the beach, you need to go 50 meters down a small path.

The main vodacom shop was closed for some reason so the guy across the road helped me with his high tech machine to take finger prints and hook me up to the internet again, easy service and very helpful but you can do this at most places now so no need to come here.

Normal campground next to the small river Our which is the border to Germany here.

Quiet well lit rest area off Caratoke Highway 168 which is lightly travelled at night. Truckers and traveller overnight parking allowed. Ample parking, picnic tables, restrooms and a pet walking area.

I stayed during the week and this was a lovely quiet little park. The restrooms in the laundry are very clean. It was a little pricey at $36, but a very nice place.

This is a larger pullout on the forest road, between two privatized areas in the national forest. The lot has signs that says no trespassing, but I think it’s for the land that stretches to the lake below. Definitely a gray area in National Forest. Road is paved most of the way and good for vehicles under 25ft long. One 100yd stretch of gravel that almost scared us away.

2 bars Verizon LTE. No AT&T.

Flat parking lots with pit toilet. Also a good place for launching kayaks. No fee, no signs prohibiting camping. A couple big RV's and tents staying there when I was there, but there was still room.

Saw 4 hippos in the river, very cool spot

Very nice OHV area with lots of primitive camping spots. very quiet during the weekdays

Tons of spots, good amount of campers here. Verizon good but spotty ( one day I can stream YouTube the next can’t check email). Really cool that there are 2 CLEAN porta-potties here stocked with TP!!

Pull out , nice flat space with spectacular view . quiet, a little bit windy at night
